Accessibility statement

West Coast Floor Company wants this site to work for everyone who needs to reach us, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, magnification, or voice control.

The standard we build to

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the level referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act practice.

What is built in

• Contrast. Body text and interface text meet or exceed 4.5:1 against their background; most of the site is well above it. Our button color pairs dark text on amber precisely because white on amber would fail.
• Keyboard. Everything is reachable and operable with a keyboard, including the before-and-after photo slider, which is a real range control with arrow-key support.
• Visible focus. Every interactive element shows a 3px focus ring that meets the contrast requirement.
• Skip link. A “skip to main content” link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
• Structure. One H1 per page, headings in order, and semantic landmarks so a screen reader can navigate by region.
• Images. Alt text is required before an image can be published — the admin refuses to save without it.
• Motion. Animation and smooth scrolling are disabled automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.
• No pop-ups over content. There are no interstitials or modals covering the page. The cookie notice is a small panel that never traps focus and never blocks reading.
• Forms. Every field has a real label, errors are announced, and nothing depends on color alone.

Known gaps

We would rather list these than pretend they are not there.

• The embedded map is Google’s and we do not control its accessibility. It only loads if you ask it to, and the full address plus a directions link are always available as text on the showroom page.
• Older project photos may have shorter alt text than newer ones. We improve these as we revisit each project.
