Privacy policy

This policy explains what West Coast Floor Company does with information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

What you send us. When you fill in the contact form or request an estimate, we receive your name, phone number, email address, the town or address of the property, and whatever you tell us about the project — including any photos you attach.

Basic technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs. We store a one-way salted hash of your IP address with each form submission so we can identify abuse. We do not store the address itself.

Analytics, only if you agree. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find the site. It stays switched off until you choose “Accept” on the notice at the bottom of the page. Decline and no analytics cookie is ever set.

Photos and location data

Photos you upload are processed on our server before they are stored, and all embedded metadata is removed in the process — including GPS coordinates recorded by your phone. Your photos are attached to your enquiry and are used to prepare your estimate. We do not publish a customer’s photos anywhere without asking for written permission first.

What we do with it

• Answer your question and prepare your estimate.
• Contact you about that project.
• Ask, once, how the job went after it is finished — you can ignore that email and we will not send another.
• Keep records required for a licensed contracting business.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list.

Who else sees it

Only the services that make the site work, and only as much as they need:

• Supabase — stores the database and uploaded images.
• Vercel — hosts the site and serves the pages.
• Resend — delivers our email to you and to us.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — checks form submissions are not automated.
• Google Analytics — only after you accept.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while they are live and then retained as business records. If you want your information removed sooner, ask and we will remove it, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.

Your rights in California

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to delete it, and ask us to correct it. You will not be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the request line is open anyway.

Children

This site is for people arranging work on a property. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
